§ 7-62. Definitions.

  • For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:

    Construction shall mean all work and material used in installing, maintaining, and extending a system of electrical wiring, plumbing facilities, gas piping and appliances and mechanical equipment and all apparatus or equipment used in connection therewith, inside of or attached to any building or structure, lot or premises.

    Inspector shall mean the person so appointed by the city manager, or his designee, who possesses the necessary qualifications, training, technical knowledge and experience to enforce the applicable codes and ordinances regulating construction.

    Master tradesman shall mean a person experienced in his trade who possesses the necessary qualifications, training and technical knowledge to plan, lay out and supervise the installation, maintenance and repair of the apparatus and equipment used in his respective trade and who is also qualified under the provisions of this article.

    Master tradesman certificate shall mean a certified printed recognition of the qualification of an applicant who has passed a master trades examination. The office of the building official shall maintain a list of approved agencies which provide examinations for master trades applicants.
