§ 16-63. Same—Confiscation and destruction of devices.

Upon the charging of any person in the municipal court of a violation of section 16-62, it shall be the duty of the police, whenever possible, to seize and take in possession any gambling device, machine, punchboard, tip board or other device or whatever name or kind pertaining to games of chance. The judge shall have power in like manner as any magistrate of the state, to declare such slot machine or gambling device confiscated. Upon such declaration, it shall be the duty of the police officers to destroy such slot machine, punchboard, tip board or other gambling device or whatever name or kind.
